faccia michelangelo
Legend has it that on his usual walk from Palazzo Vecchio to the Uffizi Gallery, Michelangelo would often meet a man who shared with him the odd story of his unsuccessful business enterprises and his credit towards the Buonarroti family which he could not settle.

We understand that during one of these encounters Michelangelo, enraged by this agitated behaviour, instantly carved the man’s portrait on the right-hand side of the main entrance to Palazzo Vecchio.
